Updating of the Lincolnshire Minerals and Waste Local Plan

The county council is currently in the early stages of updating its minerals and waste local plan. Some proposed sites fall within Baston Parish.

The county council is currently in the early stages of updating its minerals and waste local plan. As part of this process, earlier this year we put out a “call for sites” inviting interested parties to nominate sites for the future winning and working of sand & gravel/limestone for potential allocation in the new plan.  This has resulted in 31 sites being put forward for consideration, including a site(s) in or close to Baston Parish.

At this stage we are carrying out a targeted consultation to establish facts regarding any constraints that affect the sites and views on potential opportunities that the working of these sites might provide. The attached document sets out the context for this consultation, key details for each of the nominated sites, an indication of the type of information being sought and how you can get involved. Please note that the inclusion of a nominated site in this document does not imply that it will be allocated in the new plan. This will be dependent on need and the outcome of a comprehensive site selection process.

Please let us have your comments by 6 January 2023 (see paragraphs 1.14 and 1.15 of the attached document). Any comments received will be given careful consideration when we prepare the first draft plan setting out the council’s preferred approach, including the provisional allocation of sites. That document will then be subject to full public consultation currently programmed for next Spring.
